I started out drawing as a little girl, and much later in life learned how to paint in oil, watercolors, acrylic and alcohol inks. This is one of my first colored pencil pieces. It reminds me that I am going back to my roots, to a place where I'm comfortable in this territory. There will always be color in my paintings - for me it brings the subject matter alive.

Maria worked for many years in the travel industry, sparking a new passion to travel, which eventually took her to America.
